What To Wear
![]() |
SVA is extremely casual. We actually can count on one finger how many times Pastor Monty has worn a tie. Clothes are good...but as to the type, it doesn't really matter - we are a fabulously eclectic group. The most important thing to us is that you feel comfortable as you experience The Journey at SVA. |
Offerings?
![]() |
During the service we do take an offering. This is intended for those who call SVA their home - so do not feel any obligation to give. From time to time we also take special offerings for various needs from our local food bank to natural disasters around the world. |
Nursery
![]() |
We provide a safe and comfortable nursery for infants up through age 24 months. They are cared for in a loving and secure environment by a wonderful team of volunteers. A Cry Room for Nursing Mothers & Young Families with baby swings and a crib is also available at the left enterance of the main auditorium where the service can also be viewed and heard. SVA KIDS Pre-School is a Sunday morning experience for children ages 24 months through five years. Our goal is to teach every child that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. 2 Year Olds: In our Toddler group, we use a special curriculum which includes playtime, Bible stories, songs, and art. Children are taught the simple concepts of God's love and care for His people, and how they can show the same to others. For 3 & 4 Year Olds: Preschoolers love coming to SVA KIDS! This program features exciting activity stations such as art, games, blocks, and toys. The curriculum emphasizes Bible stories and application to reinforce the message. 5 Year Olds & Kindergarten: SVA KIDS is the place to be on the weekend for kids just entering school! These large group programs feature age-appropriate activity stations like art, building, games, sports, and more! Children are taught the concepts of God's love and care for His people, and how they can show the same to others using Bible stories and characters as examples. Related Link: Children's Ministry |

SVA KIDS - The Sunday morning elementary experience for children grades 1st through 5th includes a large group worship time, fun and games in our gym along with a more personal age-specific smaller group breakout. Our large group class is lead by a team of energetic & caring teen mentors & adult leaders! This class consists of a worship time & a teaching time where the children are taught from the bible & are encouraged to grow stronger in their relationship with God, follow after His commands, & reach out to their friends who don't yet know God. This teaching will be combined with hands on application & recreation time in the gym. Related Link: Children's Ministry |

SVA knows that there is a great hunger and spiritual quest among students today. We want to offer students a safe place where they can discover who God is and how a personal relationship with Him will change not only "their" world, but also the world around them. SVA Youth Sunday Mornings: Middle Schoolers start in the auditorium for worship and then move to a Gym Building class room for a lively small group time geared towards issues they deal with on a daily basis. Students in High School join the main service to take in Monty's teaching each Sunday. SVA Youth Midweek: @ The Center (8036 Falls Ave. S.E.) Wednesday Nights - High School meets 7-8:30 Thursday Nights - Middle School meets 6:30-8:00 Related Link: Students |
